Grants and in-kind support to California nonprofit organizations for events open to local residents in eligible locations. Proposed events may be virtual or in-person and must benefit the community. Funding is intended for events of importance to the city. The event can be a one-day event, a multi-day event occurring on consecutive days, or a related series of events over an extended period of time, and must take place within the Elk Grove City limits. Assistance may consist of direct funding, in-kind services, city facility use, or all of the above.

Term of Contract:

This application covers events in Elk Grove taking place between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grant Eligibility Requirements:
- Only registered nonprofit organizations in good standing with the Internal Revenue Service or a government agency that serves the Elk Grove community are eligible to apply. For-profit entities and individuals are not eligible
- The applicant organization must be in good standing with the California Secretary of State and the California Attorney General’s Registry of Charitable Trusts, if required by law to be registered

Events must not be organized around political or religious purposes.

Pre-proposal Conference:

The City will hold a public meeting and technical assistance webinar to assist applicants and provide members of the public an opportunity to share their thoughts on what types of activities are most needed in Elk Grove. Applicants and members of the public are encouraged to participate in the public webinar held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 12:30-2:00pm.

The City anticipates the following schedule for reviewing submitted applications and determining funding awards:
- Jan 15, 2021: Release of Application
- Jan 26, 2021: Application Workshop and Public Meeting Webinar (12:30-2:00pm)
- Feb 26, 2021 at 11:59 pm: Deadline for proposal submissions
- Mar 1 – Apr 15, 2021: Review period
- Apr 28, 2021: Funding recommendations presented to City Council (preliminary awards)
- May/June 2021: City Council approves annual budget (final awards)
- July 1, 2021: Funding year begins
