Grants of up to $1,000 for USA, Canada, and International sea turtle conservation and research programs across the globe. Funding is intended to support scientific research and assessment, education, information-sharing networks, capacity building, and public outreach and behavior change.

In 2018, SWOT will award grants to sea turtle research and conservation projects around the world that fall within SWOT's three program areas: Networking and Capacity Building, Science, and Education and Outreach.

I. Networking and Capacity Building - These grants aim to:

- Strengthen networks that facilitate information-sharing and coordinate sea turtle conservation efforts.
- Build local or regional capacity for sea turtle research and conservation.

II. Science - These grants aim to support scientific work that fills critical gaps in knowledge about sea turtles that will support conservation objectives. This includes:

- Assessments of poorly known or recently discovered sea turtle populations (nesting, or at sea).
- Research that will help address a specific conservation issue or management objective.

III. Education and Outreach - These grants aim to support public education and outreach efforts that seek to motivate changes in human behavior in places where sea turtles nest, migrate, and forage. Examples of behavior changes include the reduction of littering, reduction of consumption of sea turtle eggs, an increase in adoption of bycatch reduction technology, and increase in support for local protected areas.
