Grants to USA nonprofit organizations in communities where the funding source's facilities are located, for programs in the areas of economic empowerment, crisis relief, and professional performing arts and museums.
Economic Empowerment - The Deluxe Corporation believes that the best way to build strong economies is through championing entrepreneurship and educating citizens on the importance of small business in local communities.
Focus areas are:
- Job skills and placement
- Business education
- Financial literacy
- Tutoring programs
Crisis and United Way - The Foundation supports organizations and communities across the country that help Americans get back on their feet during times of crisis, from the American Red Cross to local food shelves. Examples include a partnership with the Red Cross for emergency response and counseling services for people in crisis.
Focus areas are:
- Red Cross partnership
- Food shelves
- Domestic abuse
Arts - The arts help enrich and diversify our lives, and the Deluxe Corporation Foundation is proud to support professional performing arts groups (dance, theater, music) and museums across the country that broaden Americans’ access to the arts.
Focus areas are:
- Professional performing arts
- Art museums

The Deluxe Corporation Foundation accepts grant proposals from qualifying nonprofit organizations that serve the general communities in which Deluxe facilities are located, including Minnesota.
The October 1, 2017 deadline will be accepting applications from states in yellow on the following map: http://community.deluxe.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/DeluxeCares_ApplicationMap.png
In addition, nonprofits must:
-Have obtained tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) or 509(a)(1), (2), or (3)
-Have operated as a nonprofit for at least two years
-Have secured support from other corporate funders
-Organizations without 501(c)(3) tax-exemption determination letters
-Sponsorships (e.g., events, conferences, fundraisers)
-Political organizations or projects
-Athletic or recreational programs
-Health, including: hospitals, patient care, specific health issues
- Pre-K – 12 schools
- Colleges/Universities (request for proposal only)
- Animal rescue programs
The Deluxe Corporation Foundation recently changed its grant deadlines, but will be flexible during this year of transition. Please note that all grant proposals should continue to be submitted by the previously communicated final deadline of Oct. 1. The Foundation office will enforce the new deadlines in 2018. If you have not yet submitted your grant proposal, please use the new guidelines.
