Grants to California individuals and nonprofit organizations for arts activities to benefit eligible regions. Applicants must submit a Letter of Intent prior to submitting a full application. Funding is intended for fine, visual, and performing arts, literary arts, equipment and facilities, and arts experiences for students. Grants should benefit the Culver City community.

The Foundation considers three project categories. Grant proposals must specify one project category.

  1. Arts Grants: Arts Grants include performing, visual and fine arts, and literary arts.
    • Forms of creative activities that are performed in front of an audience
    • Visual and Fine Arts created primarily for visual enjoyment
    • Literary Arts is the integration of ideation, literary appreciation, and creative writing.
  2. Equipment/Facility Grants
    • Funds that are used for the purchase, improvement or maintenance of equipment or facilities used for art production.
  3. Experience Grants
    • Funds that are used for student field trips to arts facilities, internships or mentorships with arts organizations.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Culver Arts solicits grant applications from both non-profit organizations that have a 501 (C)(3) letter from the Internal Revenue Service as well as individuals whose work will benefit the Culver City Community.

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Reside or work in Culver City,
- At least 18 years old
- Be the principal creator/performer or manager of the work submitted
- Must include a matching fund/resources component (i.e. CCAF can not be the sole supporter of the project)

Application Deadlines:
- Letter of Intent: Submitted online or by mail by December 15, 2019
- Board Responses to LOI: Due to applicants by January 15, 2019
- Grant Proposal: Submitted online or by mail by February 15, 2020
- Successful Grants: Awarded by March 15, 2020

Only grant proposals that are submitted electronically will be considered.

Application Process:
Culver Arts has a two-step application process that includes both a Letter of Intent (LOI) and a full grant proposal.

Step 1: Letter of Intent: A letter of intent must precede a formal grant proposal. The purpose of the letter is to determine if an organization/individual fits within the eligibility guidelines. The Culver Arts Board will review the letters of inquiry and notify applicants of the results.

Step 2: Grant Proposal: Culver Arts only reviews grant proposals from applicants whose Letter of Intent has been approved. If your Letter of Intent is selected to go forward, you must complete the application process by completing the CCAF online grant application.
