Envision Equity Grants enable educators to test creative new ideas and innovations, demonstrating exemplary teaching and learning. Applicants must be current NEA members.

Opportunity for USA and territories K-12 teachers at public, private and charter schools to participate in a professional development and skill-building program. The program includes online courses, workshops, and international fieldwork. The goal of the program is to equip educators to bring an international perspective to their schools through targeted training, experience abroad, and global collaboration.

Successful applicants will receive a custom technology package as well as coaching and AI integration training. Opportunity for USA and territories experienced school administrators to participate in a professional development cohort abroad. The program includes school visits, meetings with teachers and administrators from the host country, and workshops about the host country's educational system.

Grants to USA teams of students at institutions of higher education to develop agriculture solutions that use technologies from the aviation industry. Applicants must submit a letter of intent prior to submitting a full application. Funding is intended to improve the efficiency, production, environmental impact, and extreme weather/climate resilience of agriculture.

Fellowships to USA and territories registered nurses to work on a healthcare problem in their health systems. This program is intended to provide teams of nurses with the support and training to be innovative leaders in their health systems, and to be able to bring about institutional change.

Contract for services to a California nonprofit or for-profit organization, business, Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise, or individual to create and oversee a grant program to support Native American artists. The purpose of the program is to reduce disparities in funding and increase visibility for Native American artists.

Grants to California nonprofit organizations and government agencies for animal welfare programs in response to wildfires. Funding is intended both for direct response to the 2025 California wildfires and for capacity building to plan for future fires and emergencies. Applicants must be located in California.

Grants to USA nonprofit organizations, IHEs, and tribal organizations for research on languages that are under threat of extinction. Funding is intended to support projects in the areas of infrastructure, language description, and computational methods. Eligible activities include, but are not limited to, data management, archiving, digital recording, and documentation and analysis.

Grants of up to $25,000 and grants of $50,000 to California nonprofit organizations in eligible locations for substantial capital projects or vital equipment acquisitions. Equipment and projects must specifically serve local residents. The applicant organization must be in and provide significant service to the area defined by the boundaries of the Pasadena Unified School District (Pasadena, Altadena, and Sierra Madre).

Grants to USA and territories state educational agencies for programs to improve educational services for children with disabilities. Funding is intended to support community-based projects or current collections. Eligible applicants are those that serve populations of 25,000 or fewer and are located 5 or more miles from the nearest town of 25,000 or more.

Grants to California nonprofit organizations in eligible regions to help defray the costs of camps for youth. Funding is intended to provide scholarships to attend either day camps or overnight camps. Eligible applicants can be camp owners or organizations that send youth to camp. Funding is generally limited to organizations located in Los Angeles and surrounding areas.

Opportunity for USA startup businesses to participate in a business development program. The purpose of the program is to enhance readiness for the marketplace and improve business success. Successful applicants will receive business resources and mentorship. The program is looking for high-impact, high-potential startups with a viable path to success and some traction/progress in their plans. High-impact and high-potential means a startup has a large addressable market and, if successful, will significantly impact the problem it is trying to solve.

Grants to USA investigators affiliated with nonprofit institutions for research projects related to aging. The purpose of the funding is to advance knowledge on the physiological decline associated with normal human aging. Special consideration is given to applicants who may not have previously worked in the field of aging.

Fellowships to USA and territories graduate students to gain experience in coastal management and research in Washington, DC. The Fellowship offers direct experience working on the latest issues in ocean, coastal, and Great Lakes management and research.

Funding is intended to propel university and college mathematics faculty to develop projects to increase the participation of women in mathematics.

Grants of up to $6,000 to USA and Canada IHE faculty members for activities that foster increased minority student engagement in mathematics. Funding is intended to focus on expanding the interest of middle school, high school, and post-secondary students from underrepresented communities. These include students who are Black or African American; American Indian or Alaska Native; Hispanic or Latino; or, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander.

Grant and in-kind support to a USA, Canada, or International journalist for costs related to the creation of a human interest story. Funding is intended to enable a reporter to conduct research and write at the location of the topic event. The purpose of funding is to support the work of a promising early-career nonfiction writer on a story that uncovers truths about the human condition. Eligible costs include travel expenses. The Institute expects the completed work to appear in an English-language publication of strong reputation.

Funding is intended to assist the business in reaching the next level it is aiming for, such as scaling operations or launching a new product. Grant funds must be used exclusively for legitimate business purposes. These purposes should directly support the growth, development, or operation of the recipient’s business.

Opportunity for USA nonprofit organizations, IHEs, hospitals, laboratories, and agencies to build innovative biology research models. Successful applicants will be invited to use one of the largest computing systems in the world devoted to life sciences research. All proposals relating to the funder's mission to manage, prevent, and cure all diseases by the end of the century will be considered. This grant is for an allocation of the funder's GPU resource (minimum request of 96 GPUs).

Residency for a USA individual to create works of poetry at a museum in New York City. The purpose of the program is to encourage the development of poetry in the context of the museum space. The poet will receive a $20,000 honorarium and be featured in the museum's publications.

Grants of up to $72,000 to USA and territories nonprofit organizations to improve evaluation capacity of programs related to veterans at risk. Funding is intended to equip veteran-serving organizations and other nonprofits with sustainable capacity to continue evaluating their programs, improving their approach to serving veterans, and contributing to the evidence base on the effectiveness of veteran suicide prevention programs. Funds may be used to cover expenses directly related to the development and implementation of evaluation activities for approved suicide prevention programs.

The award is intended to support teachers who raise awareness of music education causes while making a positive influence on their community and school. Teachers must have at least 4 years of experience.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit and for-profit organizations, government agencies, IHEs, Tribal governments, school districts, and faith-based organizations for studies addressing human genetic research. Grants to USA young adults for assistance to mitigate the negative financial impacts of their cancer experiences. Funding is intended for housing expenses, car payments, education expenses, and dental and cosmetic treatments needed as a result of previous cancer treatments.

Residencies to USA artists to create artistic work in a studio belonging to the funding source in Pennsylvania. In addition to receiving a cash stipend, applicants will benefit from access to a fully equipped studio, work space, and housing for the duration of the residency. Participating residents are artists age 18 and up who work in small metals, jewelry, fibers, weaving, papermaking, book arts, and/or small-scale woodworking. Grants to USA curators or curatorial teams for thematic contemporary art exhibitions. Eligible applicants are those in partnership with an established nonprofit exhibition space, such as a traditional museum or gallery, or an alternative nonprofit venue. Qualifying initiatives include outreach projects targeting local labor unions; significant expansion or establishment of special labor collections; initiation of programs of special interest to the labor community; or other library activities that serve the labor community.

Grant to a USA librarian for travel expenses to attend a professional development conference. Funding is intended to assist qualifying librarians with obtaining the professional development, networking, and education needed that will enable them to best serve their local communities through interlibrary loans, document delivery, resource sharing, and/or electronic reserves. The grantee will be assigned a mentor to help them navigate through the conference experience.

Award of $5,000 to a USA, Canada, or International individual to recognize outstanding contributions to the field of reference librarianship. Eligible contributions may involve writing or publishing books or articles about the reference field; teaching activities that are creative and inspirational; a constructive and imaginative program in a library; active participation in professional associations devoted to reference services; or leadership in other noteworthy professional activities.

Award of $1,250 to a USA current or former librarian, educator, or researcher for extraordinary contributions to adult services at libraries. Contributions will be evaluated based on factors such as creativity and innovation, the impact on others, demonstrated leadership, publications, and the measurable effectiveness of programs. The nominee may be a practicing librarian, a library and information science researcher or educator, or a retired librarian who has brought distinction to the profession's understanding and practice or services for adults.

Grant of up to $3,000 to a USA, Canada, or International early-career psychologist affiliated with a nonprofit institution or government agency for trauma-related research projects. Funding is intended to support innovative studies that aim to relieve trauma. Proposals will be evaluated on originality, innovation, potential impact, and contribution to the field of trauma.

Award of $1,500 to a USA, Canada, or international library or library system for the creation of a new reference tool to benefit patrons. The purpose of the award is to recognize the achievement of providing patrons with a unique and creative resource. Eligible resources include a database, directory, bibliography, guide to the literature of a specific subject, or any other project that has helped the library meet adult or children’s reference needs. Tools, guides, or databases that have been developed for reader’s advisory or adult service questions and needs are also eligible for the award.

Grant to a USA, Canada, or International early-career psychologist or graduate student affiliated with a nonprofit institution or government entity for psychology research projects related to trauma. The purpose of funding is to support research projects focusing on the prevention, treatment, and understanding of the consequences of exposure to traumatic events such as sexual assault, sexual harassment, and/or rape.

Grants of $50,000 to USA and territories nonprofit organizations to improve public safety and promote justice in criminalized and under-resourced communities. Funding is intended for proposals that shift power away from the police and increase law enforcement accountability and transparency.

Cooperative agreements to USA, Canada, and International government agencies, IHEs, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, and small businesses for research related to neuromuscular and neurological conditions and disorders. Required registrations may take several weeks to complete.

Grants of $10,000 to USA curators working with nonprofit organizations for research leading to a contemporary art exhibition. Funding is intended for proposals that will address a strong, thematic exhibition putting contemporary architecture and art in an innovative or unconventional aesthetic, historical, cultural, and/or social framework. Applicants are encouraged to think expansively and challenge conventional thought through the exploration of critical ideas in the context of contemporary art.

Grants of up to $20,000 to USA and Canada orthopedic surgeons for medical research projects. Funding is intended to support early-stage researchers in the field of elbow and shoulder studies. Applications may also be submitted by PhDs and DVMs affiliated with an orthopedic department and partnering with an orthopedic surgeon.

Grants to USA biomedical researchers affiliated with accredited institutions for research on Type 1 Diabetes. Funding is intended for innovative research to find a cure and better understand the disease. High-priority areas include autoimmunity issues, beta cell regeneration and transplantation, diabetes-related complications, and management of T1D using devices.

Residencies to USA, Canada, and International artists, writers, and performance artists to create new artwork. This program is open to artists working in any medium. Residents will receive a $5,000 stipend and housing as well as the opportunity to be inspired by the beauty, science, history, and heritage of the Haleakalā National Park in Maui, Hawaii.

Grants to USA federal and state agencies, private conservation groups, nonprofit organizations, and tribes in multiple states to develop conservation strategies for aquatic resources in eligible regions. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to finalize. Funding is intended to support collaborative efforts to conserve native desert fish species by protecting, restoring, and enhancing aquatic ecosystems across their historic range.

Grants to California nonprofit community-based organizations in eligible locations for programs that reduce energy consumption. Funding is intended to support outreach and educational activities among utility customers who will be eligible for a credit on their bills by reducing their energy use during a Flex Alert. The program incentivizes the behavior of customers who will be helping to eliminate the need for rotating outages. Outreach must be conducted to residential customers in Pacific Gas & Electric, Southern California Edison, and San Diego Gas & Electric territories.

Grants and in-kind support to USA business owners with diverse backgrounds to support the opening of businesses in eligible locations. Successful applicants will participate in a four-week retail workshop and have access to networking resources and opportunities, individual business guidance and planning, and support related to funding and leases. The purpose of the program is to bring more diversity to shopping centers and help support equity within the industry. Eligible businesses are located within designated commercial centers in specified locations.

Grant to a USA, Canada, or International graduate student or early-career psychologist affiliated with a qualifying institution or government agency to conduct research studies in the field of trauma. Funding is intended to support innovative projects that focus on the understanding, prevention, and treatment of the consequences of exposure to traumatic events such as sexual assault, sexual harassment, and rape.

Grant of $30,000 and in-kind support valued at up to $9,000 to a California nonprofit organization in eligible counties to train staff members to provide financial coaching services to residents. Funding is intended to enable organizations to strengthen financial literacy in local communities. Organizations should have the ability to reach diverse communities, including those that are unbanked or underserved. The purpose of the program is to strengthen financial wellness by improving community access to financial coaching opportunities, while providing non-profits with unrestricted grant funds to support this work and their missions. Programs must benefit people in the counties of Napa, Solano, Yolo, Contra Costa, and Merced.

Funding may be used for outreach, research, monitoring, and management projects. Proposals should include clear and specific information about how the proposed work would address Recovery Plan goals and contribute to species recovery or prevent the need to list a species under the federal Endangered Species Act (ESA). Additionally, applicants may apply for funding to monitor candidate, at-risk, and recently delisted species.

Grants to USA and territories nursing schools to expand the nursing workforce. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. The purpose of this program is to expand the nation's capacity to train nurses by providing loans to those studying to become nurse faculty.

Grants to California neighborhood associations in eligible locations for activities that enhance local neighborhoods. Funding is intended to support projects and programs that address cleanliness and safety, promote community engagement, and improve the quality of life throughout city neighborhoods. The purpose of the program is to foster collaboration between the city and local neighborhoods, address community issues, and develop relationships among local residents. Requests will be accepted from eligible applicants in the City of Campbell.

Grants of up to $10,000 to California nonprofit, community groups, faith-based organizations, food pantries, and institutions for projects to prevent food waste in eligible locations. Interested groups must contact the funding source to check their eligibility before applying. Funding is intended for activities and equipment that enable the donation or recovery of surplus food. The goal of the grant program is to reduce food waste generated or disposed of in Alameda County.

Grants of up to $10,000 to California nonprofit organizations, businesses, school districts, and institutions in eligible regions for environmental projects related to packaging waste. Funding is intended to replace limited-use packaging utilized in distribution, transportation, and manufacturing with durable alternatives, designed for many years of use. Projects must reduce transport packaging waste generated in Alameda County or reduce packaging used to transport materials/products originating outside of Alameda County that are shipped with an end destination in Alameda County.

Cooperative agreement to a USA or territories nonprofit or for-profit organization to maintain a criminal database. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. The purpose of the program is to create a website to provide the public with information about registered sex offenders and to facilitate information sharing among jurisdictions.

Fellowships of $50,000 to USA and territories poets to engage in impactful civic projects and the creation of new work. Selected fellows are official poet laureates with a history of published work who are recognized in their field. The program is intended to recognize accomplished poets appointed to serve in civic positions and support their efforts to produce new work.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International IHEs, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, and agencies for small research projects related to cancer. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. Funding is intended for small research projects on cancer that can be carried out in a short period of time with limited resources.

Cooperative agreement to a USA or territories nonprofit organization, agency, or IHE for research related to mine emergencies. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. Funding is intended for research that will promote the health and safety of miners.

Cooperative agreement to a USA IHE or nonprofit or for-profit organization to develop and deliver a training curriculum for correctional staff. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. Funding is intended to develop a curriculum that educates correctional officers, staff, and leaders to prevent, detect, and respond to allegations of sexual abuse or sexual harassment of people in confinement settings.

Grants of up to $50,000 to California school districts, public and private schools, IHEs, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and healthcare facilities to address dining facility waste in eligible areas. Applicants are expected to develop a plan for closed-environment dining establishments to replace single-use disposable foodware with reusable systems. Projects must take place in closed-environment cafeterias or similar dining facilities serving at least 150 meals per day, and must be located in Alameda County.

Grants to USA and territories nonprofit and for-profit organizations, agencies, IHEs, research centers, and tribes for research on autism and other developmental disabilities. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. Funding is intended to support research that benefits children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities.

Grants to Oregon and California nonprofit organizations, government agencies, special districts, tribes, and educational institutions for activities to protect forests and restore watersheds in eligible regions. Funding is intended to support projects that advance fish and wildlife conservation, restoration, and monitoring projects in eligible regions. Eligible projects must take place in the Klamath River Basin.
