Request a Grant Writer

Award of $1,000 to recognize a California individual or organization for exceptional work and contributions to the field of grassroots environmental activism in the previous year. The purpose of the award is to recognize outstanding personal or volunteer-based achievement in conservation and environmental justice. The nominee's activities may have been local, regional, or statewide in scope. If an individual is the winner, he or she can designate an environmental grassroots organization to receive the prize money.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

- Either individuals or organizations may be nominated. Self-nominations are welcome.
- Organizational Nominees: Annual budget must be below $100,000/yr.
- Individual Nominees: Must be a volunteer.
- Geographic Area: California only. Activities may be local, regional, or statewide in scope.

Please note: The prize money must be awarded to an organization, not an individual.

Pre-Application Information:

Nominations are due by March 22, 2021. The Anthony Grassroots Prize winner will be announced on Earth Day, April 22, 2021.
