Opportunity for USA schools in eligible areas to participate in an anti-bullying training and coaching program. Select schools located in New York City, Boston, Denver, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Oakland, California will be eligible to join the program. The training and workshops will focus on activating student compassion to eradicate bullying and cyberbullying.
The ultimate goal of Shred Hate is to cause a tangible reduction of bullying incidents in schools by igniting the compassion of youth. Approximately one-third of adolescents worldwide are the target of bullying every year and 160,000 kids per day do not attend school for fear of being bullied, so the need and timing for such a program is critical. As part of the program, No Bully, works directly with local school districts through the program.
No Bully Workshops:
- Foundational Training: All faculty, 3 hours: This initial workshop gives all the adults who work on campus a common language and a unified approach to stop student bullying and harassment.
- Leadership Coaching: 3 one-on-one sessions (Session 1: 2 hours, Sessions 2 and 3: 90 minutes): School leaders are coached to create a new social vision for their school, to integrate the No bully system into writing anti-bullying policy and to make a plan for teaching social and emotional learning.
- Solution Coach Training: Select teachers and staff, 1 day (6 hours): A core group of staff is trained on how to become their school's Solution Coaches. They learn how to bring together Solution Teams of students to end bullying of their peers and how to follow up with students stuck in the role of bully or victim.
- Parent/Guardian Workshop: Select teachers and staff (1 day, 90 minutes): Support of parents and guardians is critical to creating a bully-free environment. Participants learn to recognize the new face of bullying and gain practical skills to prevent their child from becoming either a target or a bully
