Grants of up to $2,000 to California individual artists in eligible locations for assistance during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis. Funding is intended to support visual artists who are facing financial challenges due to the pandemic. Eligible applicants reside in Los Angeles County. Grants are unrestricted and can be used toward any expenses that alleviate financial pressures due to the current emergency.

A broad definition of “visual art” is used and includes painting, printmaking, ceramics, drawing, illustration, sculpture, video, new media, textiles, mural and public art, photography, performance art, social practice, sound art, and installation-based practices.

Grants will be distributed with priority consideration to reflect the cultural and geographic diversity of L.A. County.

Individuals may apply for up to $2,000.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

- Must be a full-time resident of Los Angeles County for at least 5 years;
- Must not be a currently enrolled student;
- Must not be eligible for or currently receiving unemployment benefits (applicants can be receiving CARES benefits); and
- Cannot have a conflict of interest (family or financial relationships) with board, staff, and directors of CCI and Fund funders.

Applicants will be asked to demonstrate their artistic practice by providing a link to a website featuring their work.

Applications are accepted until May 25, 2020, at 5:00 PM PST.

All new applicants must register for an account with the GO Smart system before accessing the grant application.

Applicants will be notified about their award status by June 3, 2020.
