Grants to USA nonprofit organizations for environmental projects and community improvements. Applicants must submit a Letter of Inquiry prior to applying. Funding is intended to enhance the quality of life in underserved communities and to protect and preserve the natural environment of those areas. Preference will be given to programs where these two interests intersect.

The financial support will be restricted to a specific existing or new project or initiative and can include research to support the program. Preference will be given to organizations that have a potential for expansion opportunities with data-driven results.

The Foundation's mission is to positively impact communities that lack access to economic and social opportunities and essential resources. The Foundation seeks to work toward resolving these inequalities by alleviating disparities in food access, affordable housing, high-quality education, physical and psychological healthcare, and/or criminal justice.

The Andrew Family Foundation intends to engage in long-term collaborations to affect measurable change. In addition to providing financial resources, they intend/expect to be actively involved in promoting the growth and expansion of the selected programs or organizations.

Requirements:
- Applicant organization must have 501(c)(3) tax exempt status.
- Geographic Funding Area. Program or initiative must be in the United States.
- Organization Size. Annual Program Budget should be $1.0M to $4.0M
- Level of Experience. Organizational leadership must have relevant program-specific or nonprofit experience.
- Board Engagement. Organizations must be able to provide opportunities for significant involvement for Foundation board members, such as membership on the Board of Directors of the applicant organization.

For purposes of this initiative, the Andrew Family Foundation will NOT consider programs that support public policy or provide funding for endowments or capital grants.

Pre-Application Information:

Applicants should take the online eligibility quiz. If you pass the eligibility quiz, you will be asked to submit a letter of inquiry. The letter of inquiry must be completed by 11:00 pm Central Time on Monday, March 15, 2021.

Applicants are encouraged to submit a letter inquiry in sufficient time prior to the deadline to avoid any technical problems.

A committee appointed by the Andrew Family Foundation will review Letters of Inquiry from February 1, 2021, through March 29, 2021. Selected organizations will be notified by March 30, 2021, and invited to complete full proposals.

Full proposals must be completed and submitted by 11:00 pm Central Time on May 1, 2021.

The committee will select a limited number of organizations as finalists for further review. Site visits and interviews with the executive director and/or project director of each finalist will be conducted. A final decision will be made and the organizations will be notified no later than November 30, 2021.

The first grant disbursement will be made within 30 days of grant notification.
