Grants of up to $5,000 to California nonprofit organizations to hold community events in eligible locations. Applicants must attend or view a pre-application workshop prior to applying. Funding is intended to support a range of cultural opportunities that benefit both residents and visitors, and that encourage economic growth and cultural enrichment of the local community. Funds may be used for public festivals, parades, and celebrations in the city of San Jose.
The City of San José provides a limited number of Festival, Parade & Celebration Grant (FPC) awards each year in order to:
Historically, FPC awards have supported a wide variety of parades, arts festivals, festivals celebrating cultural heritage relevant to San Jose residents, and other events that celebrate a community, a neighborhood or a shared cultural interest. These events are often held in public spaces and are always open to the entire public. Many FPC-supported events have free attendance, although some have fee-based admission to some parts of or the entire event.
Estimated Size of Grant:
One-Year and Two-Year application options.
- One-Year: Organization’s event takes place during July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024
- Two-year: Covers both the FY 2023-2024 and FY 2024-2025 cycles
